Binge and Purge

My friend, Noel Heberling, has secured a gallery to curate a show he has titled “Binge and Purge”. Binge and Purge will open on June 22nd at Magnan Projects in Chelsea, Manhattan (http://www.magnanprojects.com). The show will feature six artists (Audra Graziano, Lai Chung Poon, Kelly Mola, Carlyle Micklus, Joshua Howard, and myself).

Most likely, this show will be the first public display of “Fruit Loop Chuck Close”, so I hope to see all the Crateart fanatics present for the opening. All of these artists are amazing, and this is bound to be a show unlike anything else.

I will present more facts about this show as I get them. Until then, here is an excerpt from the press release by Noel Heberling:

“Each artist in this exhibition binges on a different cultural buffet; work, politics, advertising, gender roles, art history. Whatever it may be, these artists have had too much. Rather than let it destroy them, they've used the experience to fuel the creative process. The images, concepts, or tactics employed by the artists reveal the specific overindulgence that serves as their inspiration. In order to purge themselves properly, they must translate the language of their respective assailants into their own language of art.”
